Thanks to everyone who attended Writers Resist: Arlington on Sunday January 15 at One More Page Bookstore. We had a standing-room-only crowd of about 60 people. Nine featured readers—myself included—and five open mike readers shared rousing original poetry as well as readings from diverse voices ranging from contemporary writers with disabilities, writers of color, and Queer writers through great historical forebears such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Robinson Jeffers, and even Thomas Hardy.
I have a few upcoming readings I also wanted to share:
Friday, February 10, 7-830 p.m.: Unrequited Book Party (AWP Offsite Reading)
Walls of Books
3325 Georgia Ave NW
Washington, DC 20010
Sunday, February 26, 2:00-4:00 p.m.: Deaf Poets Society Reading
4508 Walsh St.
Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815
I am especially excited about this one because I am very proud of my association with The Deaf Poets Society and it will be my first time as a featured reader at The Writer’s Center.
Tuesday, April 18, 7:00 p.m.: Hear at Martha’s—Poets of Resistance
Martha Washington Library
6614 Fort Hunt Rd.
Alexandria, Virginia 22307
Please join us for any or all of these!
