On the Move

This past Sunday, after a long bike ride, I decided to jump on the ART 41 bus and let it carry me up a particularly steep hill on Columbia Pike. After securing the bike on the bus’s rack, I boarded and immediately spotted this:

Moving Words 2

Naturally, I was delighted. There are currently four poems circulating on the ART (Arlington Rapid Transit) buses, three by competition winners and one by Arlington County Poet Laureate, Katherine Young. If you ride the ART buses, keep your eyes out for these. Another set of three will go up in the summer.

I’m also very pleased to have recently published a poem in Pre-Existing Poems. This fine online journal “is an ongoing poetry initiative with the intent to raise awareness about life with pre-existing medical conditions through poetry.” I encourage you to explore the site.

I’ll have an update about the DC Poet Project soon. Stay tuned!
